Northshore Bridal Makeup Artist
A Rockport MA Wedding at the Shalin Liu
with David Tucker Photography
Being a northshore bridal makeup artists I get the great opportunity to meet some pretty amazing people. Please allow me to introduce you to a few.
It was a beautiful but overcast day in October 2014 when the most adorable and loving couple tied the knot at the absolutely breath taking Shalin Liu Performance Center & Rockport Music in Rockport Massachusetts.
This is what Lauren tells me about her experience and reasons for choosing this location… “Shalin Liu was so incredible for so many reasons its was meaningful because its nestled in the very center of the town I grew up in and love and over looked where so many of my happiest memories with my parents ( whom may not be here physically but are in spirit) occurred on the ocean. Amy the event coordinator was an absolute joy to work with and it was so great to have everything in one place- the ceremony and the reception.”
I was introduced to Lauren by my pal Beth over at Something Borrowed Something New Events. Beth thought we would be a great match and oh was she so right! Lauren and I both got married the same month and 1 day a part with her wedding being October 4, and mine was October 3.
We both had so much in common including suffering a great loss of our dad’s during the planning of our weddings. We couldn’t help but create that instant bond and it is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Lauren and her new husband Mitul.
Beth over at Something Borrowed Something New Events (SBSN) put this whole wedding together. It’s always a pleasure when I get to work with such an organized and fun team of wedding professionals. SBSN provide full service wedding planning and have offices located in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. They also provide destination wedding planning at Extraordinary Destination Weddings, they are a consortium of award winning wedding planners from around the globe who specialize in destination weddings.

How did Lauren find David? Well David photographed Lauren’s Sister Stephanie’s wedding in September 2002 too!
Please enjoy these lovely photo’s by David and please notice how he captured so well all the intricate details!
The culture of Lauren and Mitul’s wedding was a blend of both their traditions. Her family is Christian/Italian and Mitul’s Indian/Gujrati. Neither of them are very religious but they both embrace their backgrounds and traditions, and each others customs.
The art on Lauren’s hands and feet is called Mehndi or Henna. It’s a Hindu tradition that involves elaborate detail on the hands and feet of the bride but also some on the hands of the women on both sides of the family. It’s kind of the equivalent of a bachelorette party in India. The women get together and enjoy each other, dance and relax while they are getting their henna. The artist who applied the Henna art on Lauren’s hands name was Menisha and this is her website http://hennacafe.com/#!/home/
Lauren, you hold a very special place in my heart! Thank you for letting me be your bridal makeup artist.
Mitul’s son from his 1st marriage played a very special role in the joining of Lauren and Mitul’s hearts and gained a pretty super awesome 2nd mother! He was Mitul’s best man!
Matron of Honor Stephanie who is Lauren’s sister and Maid of Honor Alison who sported a super stylish boot were such a dream and it was my pleasure to the bridal party makeup for these 2 lovely ladies for the big day!
These lanterns they had at their wedding were actually not tied to either of their upbringings but more of a tradition they created together. They are Chinese sky lanterns that you light up and they float off into the sky. They are so beautiful and often used to make wishes or light in memory of loved ones. Mitul and Lauren started lighting them for birthdays and writing wishes they had for the Birthday person. They do this for family and friends alive and passed as a special way to honor their loved ones. It was a very special part of their wedding.
