A Ten-Steps Tutorial on Getting Ready for Your Wedding

Salisbury weddings are no different than any other marriage ceremonies around the world.  Customs and colors may vary. But at the heart is a bride wanting the nuptials she has been dreaming about since she was little. Planning a wedding is an enormous task. It is usually the bride who spends more time getting ready for

wedding, and some planning cannot wait until the last minute.

Ten Steps to Begin Getting Ready for Your Wedding

  1. Skincare

Skincare is an important part of getting ready for wedding. However, certain services may cause inflammation that could ruin your photos. To ensure your skin is glowing on the day of the ceremony, you must start early. Prefer not to have any services less than two days before the wedding. Also please don’t try anything new within 6 weeks of your wedding!

  1. Exercise & Diet

Typical Salisbury weddings involve a bride who decides to start an exercise routine or a diet to improve her figure.  Be realistic when starting down this path and give yourself ample time to accomplish your weight loss goals. One pound of weight loss per week is considered a healthy standard to use for planning.

  1. Waxing

Regardless of what areas you wax, that abrasion often creates inflammation of the skin and is not recommended less than two days out from the ceremony.  Red splotches around your eyebrows or chafing on your inner thighs will not make you feel your best.

  1. Teeth Whitening

Everyone wants pearly whites for their pictures, but getting your teeth whitened can take time.  Decide on over-the-counter products or professional whitening well in advance of getting ready for the wedding. As a quick recommendation, be sure you allow enough time to achieve your desired results.

  1. Hair

While some women opt to do their own hair for their Salisbury weddings or have friends help them, many choose to have their hairdo professionally done to ensure it lasts for the entire occasion. A trial hair session is a must to be sure you and your stylist are on the same page, and you will be happy with the results.

  1. Makeup

Makeup artists can change your look dramatically based on the style of makeup they give you.  A makeup trial is recommended before your wedding to be sure you can accomplish the look you desire.  The day of your wedding is not the time to practice.  You will not have time to re-do your makeup countless times to get it right, so trying it out in advance can save you a lot of stress on your big day.

  1. Tanning

Light colored clothing can make pale skin looked washed out.  Self-tanning is a great way to create some contrast when getting ready for wedding but be sure you start a few weeks before the big day.  Self-tanning is a process that requires some level of mastery, so be sure that you or your tanning specialist can produce the right amount of glow without going overboard or staining your beautiful gown.  To be on the safe side, you should not use self-tanner less than seven days out from the wedding unless you have tested the product with a white t-shirt and are positive the bronzer won’t leave any orange marks after 3 or 4 days of application.

  1. Nails

While you can have this service done the day of, or the day prior to, the ceremony, you don’t want to wait until the last minute to choose your color, shape or length.  These aren’t the things to decide upon at the 11th hour.

  1. Practice Your Look

You want your final look to be flawless, so it is essential to try on your gown with your accessories, shoes, and veil in advance to be sure everything is perfect.  This will give you time to tweak anything that isn’t quite right before you walk down the aisle.

  1. Sleep

Getting enough sleep the week of, and especially the night before, your wedding can make a huge difference in making you look as radiant as you feel.  Don’t underestimate the power of the ZZZ’s.

This is not an everything you need to plan while getting ready for your wedding, but they are items you should plan in advance so you don’t find yourself panicking on one of the biggest days of your life.
