Non-Toxic Makeup and Skin Products You Need to Try
Keeping your body healthy with organic skincare and non-toxic makeup products should extend past your fresh produce and cleaning supplies! Avoid harsh chemicals by using skincare and makeup lines that contain the purest ingredients.

An antioxidant-rich, organic makeup line to try is Juice Beauty. Their products come from the wine region in California, straight off the farm! If you’d like to read up on more natural makeup lines, see Allure’s Top Performing list. Choosing holistic, non-toxic skin products is the first step to a healthy, organic lifestyle. Consider these other ways to decrease your exposure to toxins:
Take your organic skincare routine past makeup…
Earlier this month, the FDA reported that chemicals from sunscreens (like oxybenzone, avobenzone, and octocrylene) are absorbed into your bloodstream within one day of use! (Source: USA Today) Now with summer approaching, purchase all-natural sunblock will protect you from harmful UV rays.
[Cons: some mineral-based sunscreens take longer to absorb and don’t last as long as the leading chemical sunscreens (especially in water)… but if decreasing your risk of cancer is the reason you use sunscreen, avoiding chemicals is vital!]
All Good Sport Sunscreen Spray, Target $13.99
For more mineral-based sunscreen options and more in-depth information about the risks of chemical-based sunscreen, check out this informative blog article, thanks to Skincare Ox. They have listed dozens of organic sunscreen options because we need them.
There’s a chance that antiperspirants may cause breast cancer, because of the use of aluminum salts. So, just to be safe, switch to an all-natural option, like Native deodorant.
Side Note: Native is a deodorant, and technically not an antiperspirant. However, it contains natural drying agents that will absorb moisture. It took a few days to get used to its texture, but overall, I like it as much as the Dove antiperspirant I used in the past!
Native Deodorant, Target.com $11.99
Other non-toxic options to consider:
- Laundry Detergent (Try Trader Joes’ Liquid Detergent with Lavander Oils!)
- House Cleaning (I love Mrs. Meyer’s Brand, found at Target or Walmart)
- Bath Soaps (Tom’s of Maine Creamy Coconut Natural Bar Soap is a popular brand)
